What do we do?
The ELEVATE Research Lab studies how to integrate positive psychology principles into treatment for veterans suffering from trauma-related distress.
- Improving our understanding of positive emotions like moral elevation and gratitude
- Investigating the elicitation and effects of elevation in experimental settings
- Examining individual and contextual predictors of elevation responses
- Developing treatments that incorporate these principles

Dr. McGuire is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow at the VISN 17 Center of Excellence for Research for a two-year fellowship within the VA Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA)-funded advanced training program. Ideal candidates for this lab will have an interest in positive psychology and how related principles can be integrated into trauma-focused treatments.
